Tivoli La Caleta Tenerife Resort: 5-Star Luxury in Costa Adeje

In Costa Adeje, I discovered that Tivoli La Caleta Tenerife Resort is 5-star luxury at its finest. It’s a top choice for romantic couples, large groups, and families looking for a high-end vacation. You are immersing yourself in pure Canary Island luxury. However, I didn’t let that deter me as a solo traveler who wanted to enjoy myself after an extended period of traveling, staying in budget hotels, and maximizing my savings.

From the moment I arrived for a 3-day stay, I felt myself unwinding and allowed the Canarian tranquility to really wash over me. It was just such a setting of sunshine and perfection that photos can only come so close.

Tivoli Resort can be found near the end of the Costa Adeje resort area. This stretch of area is particularly known for its multiple resorts all next to each other along the beach, almost trying to top one another for the number one spot. When deciding which side of the island to stay on, most visitors choose the south for its beautiful coastline and the feeling of an island getaway in the lap of modern luxury.

The small fishing village of La Caleta is just a short walk southwest from here. Despite being right next to one of the most popular places on the island, it’s still relatively quiet among the many seafront foodie restaurants you will discover here. Sample the seafood dishes paired with a nice wine before enjoying the time right down by the beach.

In the opposite direction is Costa Adeje. Here you have the boardwalk and multiple beaches, designer shopping plazas, and a marina where you can book all your water sports and activities. The nightlife here is popping with high-end restaurants and cocktail bars. During the peak season, this whole place can become very crowded as it’s a premier vacation destination for Europeans.

Room

Whether it’s a room or a suite, your stay here will offer either a fantastic view of the surrounding tropical garden on the resort grounds or soothing panoramic views of the distant ocean, with the feeling of the sea breeze on your face. It’s incredibly rejuvenating lying out in the sunshine on the extended terrace or choosing the room with the outside jacuzzi option.

The rooms have spacious layouts with floor-to-ceiling windows, so you get the feeling of not being in a small, cramped space, with a decor focused on minimalism. The maximum occupancy of these rooms is between 3 and 4 people. What is fantastic is the large bath with a separate rain shower. Honestly, I felt spoiled that this single suite was just for me.

Tivoli Facilities

Padel

I was surprised to find a Padel court just outside the front entrance of the resort. If you haven’t played Padel tennis, it’s similar to the world-recognized racket sport with a smaller court, different techniques, and scoring. Played in numerous countries, with Spain having the most players according to recent statistics, it’s an excellent choice for a quick workout or a friendly game. You will need to either rent or bring your equipment, though.

Pool

The three heated pools will put you in the mindset of a separate oasis from the hotel. They occupy the entire back area of the resort, offering plenty of open seating and stunning ocean views. The sheer size of it will allow you to pick your little corner to enjoy. Two of the three are open to all ages, but if you want more peace of mind, the third is an adults-only pool. These pools are so large that they give you the option for both freshwater and saltwater.

There is excellent seating to enjoy the scenic ocean views with single and double sun beds and full service, so you won’t need to get out of your comfort zone. Keep in mind, these are a separate charge, but I wholeheartedly recommend spending a few extra dollars to have this experience.

You can easily exit from the pool area to the outside, where you will find a boardwalk that takes you past the other resorts and local attractions along the public beaches.

Tivoli Food and Drink

What can I say about the food other than that it has exceeded my expectations in many ways? Even the standard buffet for each meal of the day was above the norm. You might be so satisfied that you won’t even think about eating anywhere else on the resort.

Regarding the many restaurants on the property, the quality and variety are welcoming. You have a mix of Western and Mediterranean influences on international cuisines. A number of them have been personally cultivated for experience, service, and taste by celebrity chef Olivier da Costa and are part of his Olivier Restaurant Group.

Enjoy the evenings with live music and cocktail drinks at the beach club before heading back to your room.

Tivoli Hospitality Services

The customer service was outstanding during my entire stay. I found the staff members to be very proactive in making sure I had everything I needed. Other guests also mentioned the attentiveness they received during their stay here.

During my stay, I needed to have laundry service done. Both quick and efficient, they were able to accommodate me before the 4:00 pm cutoff time and had it back in my room by the early evening of the following day.

Tenerife Dolphin Tour

While the resort doesn’t offer exclusive activities outside of the property, they are more than happy to put you in touch with local tour operators for Tenerife activities, both on the beaches and inland. They also have their own transportation and will help coordinate pickups and drop-offs. A particular favorite on this side of the island is a dolphin and whale sailing tour.

Value for Money

If you are staying in a luxury resort like Tivoli, you can expect to pay luxury prices. While you might find it on the pricier side, adding up extra costs like food, drink, or wellness activities, the value of what is available on the property and the proximity to what is off the property will exceed the cost you are paying.

However, what you are really paying for is worth it if you plan on spending most of your time on the property, making it an ideal all-inclusive setting. If you are only looking for a place to lay your head down in modern comfort, this might not be the place for you. Those savings from booking at a lower-priced accommodation can be put towards more off-property activities.

Overall Rating: 4.8/5

Conclusion & Recommendation

Staying at Tivoli La Caleta Tenerife Resort rejuvenated me in such a way that I had not felt in a long time. I felt almost completely cut off from the world, which was my goal for spending time here. Less time on my phone and more time in the present, getting to enjoy this wonderful experience.

I highly recommend that those spending their vacation or holiday in Tenerife with money to burn book their stay here. It is one of those few and far between choices of luxury that can really reset your whole outlook on things.
