What I found interesting was the Mayan experience, which began with a spiritual ceremony. The masseuses gave a speech in Spanish as they blew aromatherapy smoke over me and played a small drum. It was a unique and alternative experience to what you may see at a typical spa treatment.

Origen

This performance, similar to Cirque Du Soleil, brings everyone together to show us the mythological stories of Mexico. It features high-flying acrobats, choreographed dances, colorful animation and lights, some live music, and a combination of Mexican deities and supernatural beings.

I would have to say this was one of the highlights of my time here. I highly recommend reserving a ticket before you arrive or buying one as soon as you can. It’s an additional cost, but it’s well worth it.

Riviera Maya Golf Club

It’s fantastic to find a PGA-affiliated course down here in Latin America. It’s also a great way for golf lovers to spend part of their vacation here if they want to squeeze a session in instead of the 18-hole, 72-par course or go with the shorter 9-hole early in the morning or afternoon.

You can also use the driving range, take private or group lessons, and even sign up for a club membership if you plan to come here regularly throughout the year.

Fire Show

Catch the fire show at the hacienda, where these professional fire dancers show their moves to Latin beats. This one-hour outdoor show has some great music and impressive performances. Afterward, enjoy the rest of your night at the hacienda.

Tulum Ruins

This cultural half-day adventure will take you to Tulum’s excellently preserved Mayan city. You will be picked up at the hotel by your expert local guide and whisked away to this corner of the Caribbean Sea, less than an hour from the hotel. Learn about the former residents and the purpose of these preserved stone buildings and murals. Enjoy the ocean breeze and lush jungle vegetation here.

Expect large crowds, as this site isn’t exclusive to the resort. Many different tour groups come here throughout the day. We suggest going early in the morning or afternoon.
